Beatrix Potter

- Potter is drier and less cozy than you remember: Jemima Puddle-Duck nearly gets eaten because she's a fool, and nobody pretends otherwise. Read a few before bed and you'll notice how crisp the sentences are, funny in a deadpan way that adults catch and kids miss.
