- You’d enjoy Knight’s account if practical sailing, remote islands, and a mildly quixotic treasure hunt sound better than a neatly plotted adventure. The Alerte’s voyage to the lonely South Atlantic island of Trinidad comes with storms, hard travel, and close observation of the island’s wildlife and landscape, though the pace often ambles.
