Epictetus
2 Bücher
- You get a bracingly practical companion in Epictetus, who keeps asking what is actually yours to govern and what you’re merely trying to bully into obedience. The classroom conversations can circle and repeat, but his blunt examples about insult, illness, ambition, and loss make Stoicism feel lived rather than polished.
- Epictetus was a freed slave with a lame leg, and it shows: no self-pity, just blunt little reminders that your opinions are yours and almost nothing else is. Read it in small doses, a page at a time.
