Friedrich Nietzsche

- Nietzsche in full aphorism mode, which means half the book reads like a friend picking fights at 2am, funny and mean and weirdly quotable. You'll argue with him constantly, and that's the point; if you want a tidy argument laid out politely, this will drive you nuts.
- You get a sharp, unsettling set of essays that makes you question where guilt, punishment, and “goodness” come from, especially in Nietzsche’s account of priests turning ressentiment into moral power. The prose can be combative and dense, but it rewards slow reading and leaves familiar virtues looking newly strange.
- You get a strange, beautiful mix of sermon, parable, and provocation, with Zarathustra speaking from a mountain in language that keeps turning into poetry. The tightrope walker, the dancing animals, and the attacks on easy morality reward rereading, though its grand voice can wear you down.
