Louis H. Sullivan

- Sullivan writes his whole life in third person, as "the child," which sounds precious but somehow works; you watch a boy obsessed with a suspension bridge grow into the man who figured out what a skyscraper should look like. Rhapsodic, self-mythologizing, oddly moving if you love buildings.
