- Phoebe, Junior EnglishPhoebe is the fun here: clever, unsentimental, fully aware her grandfather sells butter and her suitor is a dull rich boy she could run like a business, and Oliphant lets her be right. Quiet, wry Victorian social comedy, so skip it if you need big drama.
- Whose Body? EnglishA stranger's body turns up in a bathtub wearing nothing but a pince-nez, and Lord Peter Wimsey investigates mostly because it amuses him. The banter is the point here, though Sayers gives him real shell shock underneath, which keeps the froth from floating away entirely.
