Indian Fairy Tales Joseph Jacobs English
These are trickster tales with teeth, jackals outwitting tigers, a lamb rolling home inside a drum singing to the wolves who want to eat him. Best in small doses before bed, and Jacobs' endnotes tracing where each story wandered from are half the fun if you like that sort of rabbit hole.
Tartuffe Molière, tradotto da Curtis Hidden Page English
You'll spend most of it wanting to shake Orgon, who's so besotted with his pious houseguest that he ignores everyone, including his sharp-tongued maid Dorine, who steals every scene she's in. It's fast, mean, very funny, and reads in an evening.
