- The Deluge EnglishYou follow Andrzej Kmicic, a reckless, compromised nobleman whose swagger keeps colliding with his better instincts, through war, loyalty, and political chaos. It’s long, melodramatic, and proudly Polish, but the battles, reversals, and sheer force of Kmicic’s personality reward you if you settle into its pace.
- With Fire and Sword EnglishYou get a sprawling, old-fashioned adventure through the Cossack uprising, with the stern Skrzetuski, fierce Bohun, and wonderfully shameless Zagłoba carrying a romance, battles, and siege scenes. It can be digressive and unabashedly Polish in its loyalties, but the vivid campfire humor and rough, crowded world make the long journey worthwhile.
