- Nancy Drew at her most fun, honestly. A supposedly haunted old mansion, sliding panels, and Nancy calmly poking every wall while everyone else panics.
- You get Nancy Drew in a particularly appealing setting here: an old-fashioned inn, uneasy guests, and clues that turn up in places adults have overlooked. The mystery has that satisfying early-Nancy rhythm, with Nancy calmly noticing what everyone else dismisses, though the plot is more cozy than genuinely tense.
