A Damsel in Distress P. G. Wodehouse
You’ll enjoy the absurdly elegant tangle at Belpher Castle, where George Bevan’s romantic intentions keep colliding with Lord Marshmoreton’s rose garden obsession and the family’s plotting. It’s light, very funny Wodehouse, and pleasantly theatrical, though the romance matters less than the beautifully timed misunderstandings.
A Prefect’s Uncle P. G. Wodehouse
Early Wodehouse, before Jeeves, so you get a cheerful school story where a prefect's uncle turns up as a pupil younger than he is, plus a lot of cricket. Gentle fun if you like that world; if cricket bores you, this will test your patience.
Twelfth Night William Shakespeare
You get Viola’s clever, tender balancing act, Malvolio’s wonderfully sour self-importance, and a comedy that keeps slipping between farce and real loneliness. The mistaken identities can feel deliberately tangled, but the language is playful enough to reward reading aloud, especially when the characters are trying hardest to hide what they want.
