You’ll enjoy the absurdly elegant tangle at Belpher Castle, where George Bevan’s romantic intentions keep colliding with Lord Marshmoreton’s rose garden obsession and the family’s plotting. It’s light, very funny Wodehouse, and pleasantly theatrical, though the romance matters less than the beautifully timed misunderstandings.
A Gentleman of Leisure
Early Wodehouse, before Jeeves, so the jokes are a bit less dense, but watching Jimmy Pitt bet he can burgle a house and then acquire an actual burglar as a devoted sidekick is good fun. Light, silly, fine company for a lazy weekend afternoon.
